Weather

At the Hot To Trot 8 Hour Race, Click for Decatur, Georgia Forecast we strive to provide the race as advertised. As the name implies, you can count on it being HOT (we had a freak cold snap in 2004, but we're pretty sure that won't happen again). Temps are easily in the 90's this time of year in Georgia, with humidity off the scale. Hyponatremia and dehydration can be serious. Runners are expected to use proper electrolytes in order to stay alive! The race director reserves the right to pull anyone whom she feels is putting themselves in danger. If you do not know how to manage your electrolytes, learn BEFORE this run, not during! Note: race director is mellowing with age, but she still has a mean streak! Please, please oh please carry a bottle with you!

Counting

Thanks to 2008 winner Eric Schotz*, we'll be using a new program to count laps. I'll not guarantee that we won't make mistakes, but we're getting better! Numbers MUST be worn on front or counters will not be able to count you! Details provided at MANDATORY runner meeting race morning immediately prior to start. It is each runner’s responsibility to make sure each lap is counted.
*A note on Eric...he's running across Alabama to raise awareness and money for the National Tay-Sachs and Allied Diseases Association. Eric's son Elliot, born Nov 2007, was diagnosed with infantile Tay Sachs at 9 months. Please, please visit Eric's site on the run to learn more.
